The topsoil was lightly tilled and raked to a fine seedbed in areas designated for seeding, and sod was specified for the zones immediately adjacent to the addition and along the driveway edge where erosion risk and the need for immediate coverage made seeding impractical. A premium tall fescue blend appropriate for Lancaster County’s sun/shade conditions was seeded across the main lawn area, starter fertilizer was applied, and straw erosion blanket was installed on the slope areas.

Results
The sod areas provided immediate coverage and established within two weeks. The seeded areas germinated fully and were showing uniform coverage within thirty days.
